Quite justified pessimism this time, Pete. There&#039;s a lot to be said for a manager who throws caution to the winds and has a go. Steve Bruce seems to have forgotten how to do. He doesn&#039;t appear to be giving his players any kind of direction at all, at least against sides that -- in theory, anyway -- they should be all over.
Given the quality of the opposition in our next two games, I&#039;m remembering some of Sunderland&#039;s inspiring performances against  pedigree teams and trying to find some cause for optimism. But the best I can do is hope we come away with a point from each game.</description>
