Quite justified pessimism this time, Pete. There's a lot to be said for a manager who throws caution to the winds and has a go. Steve Bruce seems to have forgotten how to do. He doesn't appear to be giving his players any kind of direction at all, at least against sides that -- in theory, anyway -- they should be all over. Given the quality of the opposition in our next two games, I'm remembering some of Sunderland's inspiring performances against pedigree teams and trying to find some cause for optimism.
