I think Pete meant that he was so disgusted with England managers for not selecting Monty, Superkev and possibly now Darren that HE gave up on following England. Like many of us, I'd be a lot more interested in England games if we had a Sunderland player involved. I'm sure we all agree their ambition is a great thing and we'd back them all the way if they got selected. It's just that we suspect they'd stand a better chance if they played for one of the London or 'big' clubs. Though while that might have been true for Sir Alf I'm not sure that it's the case with Capello - him being Italian and all. Well no if someone has something to offer my country of birth they are welcome be they blue, green, purple, white, yellow....etc!) However to a player like Dazzler or SKP it is obviously of the upmost importance. For us as supporters to belittle their ambitions I feel is to miss the point. Anyway off to read now and hope I haven't made a fool of myself!
